The IDEA of the PROPOSAL:

The story and IDEA of the project IN NATURE are based on MOVING through a FOREST and coming to a CLEARING.

The forest is made of tall, fine and majestic Cedar trees, spaced randomly in Nature, on a sloping forest floor of soft and uniform undergrowth. The surface of the clearing undulates gently beneath the wide sky, outside the forest. There is a threshold between the forest and the clearing.

The PAVILIONS are positioned at the edge of the FOREST and the edge of the CLEARING.

The Pavilions are structures adjacent to the route from the forest to the clearing and from the clearing to the forest. The pavilions are partly recessed, in the forest, and partly exposed, in the clearing. Positioned within and on top of the slope, the pavilions place the visitor at the threshold of forest and clearing – accentuating the experience of both.

Views from the Pavilions see both the extraordinary trunks and height of the trees, the density of the forest – and the undulating clearing open to the sky.
